About Me
I am a 32 year old network engineer currently living in Berlin, Germany, although I’m originally from New Zealand. I work as a network engineer / project manager for a multinational VoIP hardware distributor. I spend a fair chunk of time working with OpenSolaris, FreeSWITCH, Patton, Polycom and Cisco.
I’ve been working in the IT industry for a bit over ten years, with my main interests lying in Cisco, Juniper/NetScreen, Proxim outdoor wireless gear, and *nix. Throughout my career I’ve also worked with Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows. I’ve also spent time in purgatory as a PHP/web developer, before discovering Django and the joy of programming in Python.
Outside of IT, my interests include photography, trance music, cycling, indoor rock-climbing, and travelling. I’ve spent about three years living in Europe (mostly Russia and Germany).
